Family Stay Experience
As you prepare for your trip to France, we’re sure that you have many questions about the Family Stay. Past travelers consistently tell us that while they were often anxious about the Family Stay before they left, it ended up being one of their favorite parts of the trip to France.
Here are some steps to help you prepare for the Family Stay experience.
- Have some ideas of things that you would like to do & see during your stay with your family. You may not be able to do everything that you would like, but it will be helpful for your family to know what interests you.
- Do research online to learn about current events in France and the city or region where your Family Stay will take place.
- As soon as you receive the information about your host family, be sure to write them a short letter or email thanking them for their hospitality. Your family will be as eager to hear from you as you are to hear from them.
- Think about what it means to be a good ambassador. You may be one of the few Americans that your host family will ever really know, so you will want to make a good impression and keep an open mind as you experience a new culture firsthand.
